With a wealth of experience in the renewable energy sector, David Whitehead has been at the forefront of development of over 2 GW of projects in Canada, with diverse expertise including solar PV, wind, storage, and transmission. As Director of Project Development with Greengate Power, David led the development of the Travers Solar Project, currently the largest operating solar project in Canada. Following this success, he prospected and led the development of 5 solar and storage projects totalling over 2GW. At Greengate, David was responsible for project feasibility, permitting, environmental studies, interconnection, engineering, and procurement for all major contracts. In this role, he was also involved in navigating the complexities of project/portfolio transactions and due diligence, marked by instrumental contributions to asset sales to industry leaders such as Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Northland Power.
