“The Secret of NIMH” is an animated fantasy film directed by Don Bluth, released in 1982. The story revolves around a field mouse named Mrs. Brisby, who seeks the help of a mysterious society of highly intelligent rats with enhanced abilities due to experiments conducted at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Mrs. Brisby faces various challenges, including the impending plowing of her home and the illness of one of her children. As she delves into the secrets of NIMH and forms alliances with the rats, she discovers their connection to her late husband, Jonathan.
The film explores themes of courage, sacrifice, and the power of intelligence when overcoming adversity…creating a captivating and heartwarming tale for audiences of all ages.
