Marissa has experience as a senior project developer working for multinational renewable energy project developers. Marissa works on utility-scale renewable energy projects from land prospecting through to construction with a specialization in regulatory permitting. Marissa has permitted and developed over 1GW of solar and energy storage projects in Alberta including some of Canada’s largest projects such as Luna Solar+ and Travers Solar.

Marissa is currently completing her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Calgary. She earned her B.A. in Criminology from Kwantlen University in Surrey, BC. Marissa is an active member of the Energy Law Club and the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) Calgary Chapter, most recently as the Representative for her 1L class. Marissa is also active with BLSA Canada and a member of the Sponsorship Committee.

Aside from working on her law degree, Marissa continues to work as a renewable energy project developer. Prior to working in project development, Marissa worked as a corporate legal assistant managing the corporate records of over 600 public and private companies as well as learning the ins and outs of a law firm.
