Chad is listed in both leading Canadian peer-based legal directories, Lexpert and Best Lawyers, in Energy Law, Aboriginal Law, and Environmental Law. Chad has previously been recognized as a “Rising Star” and “Leading Canadian Corporate Lawyer to Watch” by Lexpert. Chad is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Prior to founding Procido LLP in 2022, Chad was an Equity Partner at a regional Western Canadian law firm for nearly three years and prior to that he was an Equity Partner at a national law firm for more than seven years. Chad provides national law firm expertise and international experience with the responsiveness and price point of a local firm.

INTERNATIONAL

Chad has been retained by, and advised clients from the USA, China, Ireland, UK, Finland, South Africa, Sweden, France, Philippines, Germany, Spain, Israel, Australia, Switzerland, and other countries. On large projects and transactions, Chad has worked closely with parties in many USA states, Mexico, Chile, Latvia, Namibia, Brazil, Lithuania, New Zealand, Netherlands, Japan, Estonia, and Pakistan.

Chad’s international business experience goes back decades. Chad worked in Switzerland and studied European Union (EU) law in Sweden before, in 2002, co-founding a legal services firm, Forum Legal Avoin yhtiö (Ay) in Finland. Chad resigned in 2012 but the business is still operating nearly 23 years later. Chad went on to obtain is Masters in Law (LL.M.) degree from the University of Helsinki specializing  in contract and commercial law. Chad’s Master’s Thesis was a comparison between restrictive covenants in international jurisdictions. Chad worked at a leading Northern European law firm where he reviewed contracts for a period of time during the early 2000’s. Since relocating back to Canada, Chad was appointed Honorary Consul for Finland in Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories, facilitating business, cultural and economic exchanges between Canada and Northern Europe.
