HIGHLIGHTS RELATED TO CLEAN ENERGY
With a wealth of experience exceeding 6 years in the renewable energy sector, David has been at the forefront of development of over 2 GW of projects in Canada, with diverse expertise including solar PV, wind, storage, and transmission. As Director of Project Development with Greengate Power, David led the development of the Travers Solar Project, currently the largest operating solar project in Canada. Following this success, he prospected and led the development of 5 solar and storage projects totalling over 2GW. At Greengate, David was responsible for project feasibility, permitting, environmental studies, interconnection, engineering, and procurement for all major contracts. In this role, he was also involved in navigating the complexities of project/portfolio transactions and due diligence, marked by instrumental contributions to asset sales to industry leaders such as Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Northland Power.
He has a technical background with a multidisciplinary engineering degree covering mechanical and electrical engineering, underpinned with renewable energy foundations. Demonstrating strong leadership, organisation and communication skills, David possess a breadth and depth of knowledge in project development and due diligence.
David brings extensive expertise in project development, detailed knowledge on solar and storage technologies, and a diverse range of experience across project lifecycles.

REPRESENTATIVE WORK
Renewable Energy
- Overseeing the prospecting and development of 2GW+ of solar PV, storage and wind projects in Alberta
- Managing the development of the Travers Solar Project and extensive involvement in the sale to CIP and associated due diligence process
- Led the development and technical due diligence in the transaction of ~2GW of solar/storage projects, Key Projects include: Travers Solar (465MW), Lathom Solar (120MW), Jurassic Solar & Storage (220MW & 80MW/160MWh), Luna I Solar & Storage (465MW & 80MW/160MWh), Luna II Solar & Storage (465MW & 80MW/160MWh), Midnight Solar & Storage (465MW & 80MW/160MWh) and Lacuna Storage (465MW/1860MWh)
- Development activities including: feasibility, permitting, pre-construction engineering, procurement including EPC, PV modules, MPT’s and HV scopes, reporting to executive level management and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders.
- Working with developers, consultants and EPC’s on a variety of scopes including construction and engineering management, project and procurement management, strategic advisory, development support (including permitting, environment and interconnection) and transactional due diligence.
- Worked in the Energy and Infrastructure Advisory team, responsibilities included financial modelling and valuations for a variety of industries including offshore wind and solar PV internationally. Experience includes M&A advisory and providing technical advice for investors.
