Kimberley Breckner, J.D. (she/her)

Kim advises clients in Saskatchewan, across Canada, and internationally on all aspects of corporate law and commercial transactions. Kim’s core practice areas include a focus on mining, renewable energy, clean technology, and labour and employment.

Prior to joining Procido, Kim was in-house legal counsel for the global mining company BHP, and in-house counsel at the national accounting firm MNP, and spent several years at a mid-sized law firm with a general business and a labour and employment practice. Kim is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law, graduating with Distinction.

REPRESENTATIVE WORK

Corporate Law
  • Experience advising numerous corporations in areas such as asset and share purchases, shareholder agreements, limited partnership agreements, and corporate governance matters.
  • Supported a national accounting firm set up a corporate record keeping service, including the drafting of various shareholder and director resolutions and share transaction documents.
Commercial Transactions
  • Experience advising on numerous commercial matters including commercial real estate and leasing, commercial financing, franchise agreements, and wholesale and retail sales transactions.
Energy and Mining
  • Supported the global mining company BHP in the development of a greenfield potash mine, including legal advice regarding clean electricity generation, port and rail transportation, and procurement and construction agreements. 
Employment
  • Experience advising on various workplace policies including drug and alcohol, and occupational health and safety. Experience in drafting and negotiating employment agreement and severance calculations. Represented various employers in wrongful dismissal and human rights litigation.
